HPV: Screening & Vaccination
Women and men can now screen to see if they have evidence of HPV, the virus which causes genital warts and cervical cancer. For many women this may now replace the traditional smear test – a less sensitive test and one that is more prone to error. The vaccine, which now has its European license, gives excellent protection for teenagers and women who have never come across the virus before. Together these mean a revolution in women's healthcare; fewer smear tests, for fewer women but far stronger protection against cervical cancer for us all.

An easy to use handheld machine has been shown to reduce healing time by at least half compared to the commonest topical cream. Giving out naturally occurring infra-red light, with a wavelength of 1072nm, recent studies suggest that it works by stimulating our own bodies lymphocytes.
